From Minton's to Bohemia

Two New York jazz clubs as bookends for our project... the "birth of bop" sessions at Minton's Playhouse in 1941 (organised by Clarke) to three closely associated events in early/mid 1955 - the death of Charlie Parker, the opening of the Café Bohemia and the discovery (after a "sit in" at the club) of Cannonball Adderley, quickly hailed as the heir to Parker's mantle in the hard bop era. Cannonball recorded his debut album with Clarke, "Bohemia After Dark", a week or so later.
